Signing up gets you an account. When you order we ask two things: whether you are buying as a company or as an individual, and the country you are billed in. A company in the EU outside Greece also gives a VAT number, which we check against VIES as you order.

That is a tax requirement rather than a hurdle. What we have to charge depends on who you are and where you are, and we would rather ask than guess.
